Process Technology



The Process Technology AAS and Level II Certificate are pending SACSCOC approval.

 

The Process Technology Associate of Applied Science degree program prepares graduates for entry-level careers as Process Technologists. Courses within the program include an Introduction to Process Technology, Process Instrumentation, Safety, Health & Environment, Applied Instrumental Analysis, and Process Technology with Systems, Industrial Processes, Principles of Quality and Troubleshooting. Through the use of state of the art simulation equipment as well as hands on applied technology and general academic coursework, the student will develop the skills required to be a successful process technologist.

The Process Technology Associate of Applied Science is awarded for successful completion of the 60 semester credit hours required in the degree plan. The duties of a process technician vary depending upon the industry with the primary responsibility of the Process Technologist being to optimize a specialized engineering process and keep it on track. Graduates possess the technical skills and knowledge to perform essential processes in petrochemical plants, refineries, power generation, food and beverage and pharmaceuticals.
