SPAN 2312 - Intermediate Spanish II


3 Credits (3 hrs. lec.) This course is a continuation of SPAN 2311 , with emphasis on works by Spanish-speaking authors. Continued reinforcement of grammatical principles and development of writing skills are stressed. (1609055213) Prerequisite: SPAN 2311  or placement by exam; College Level Readiness in Reading AND Writing
Course Outcomes
1 - Summarize and interpret authentic spoken discourse produced by Spanish speakers of diverse origins.
2 - Produce Spanish comprehensible to native speakers using complex grammatical structures to communicate analytical and interpretive information in both impromptu and prepared speech.
3 - Demonstrate increasing comprehension of and ability to analyze authentic written texts in variety of genres.
4 - Write original evaluations and critiques using complex grammatical structures. Demonstrate ability to formulate cohesive paragraphs and essays.
5 - Interpret cultural practices and products of the Spanish speaking world drawing on authentic materials including literature and the visual arts.
