AIRP 1307 - Aviation Meteorology Credit Hours: 3 Contact Hours - Lecture: 3 Coverage of meteorological phenomena affecting aircraft flight. Topics include basic concepts of aviation meteorology in the study of temperature, pressure, moisture, stability, clouds, air masses, fronts, thunderstorms, icing, and fog. Also includes analysis and use of weather data for flight planning. Prerequisite: College Level Readiness in Reading AND Writing Student Learning Outcomes 1 - Explain the basic atmospheric processes that produce weather in the atmosphere.
2 - Identify the weather hazards that pilots will encounter associated with flight.
3 - Utilize multiple methods to receive and analyze weather data.
4 - Explain the use of meteorological information to conduct safe flight.
