The Basic Structural Firefighter certificate is for students wanting to pursue entry level opportunities as fire fighters.

Fire Science Technology, AAS

The Associate of Applied Science degree in Fire Science Technology is designed to enhance firefighters’ knowledge base and help students obtain advancement opportunities in the fire service field.

Prerequisite: Completion of Basic Structural Firefighter Certificate, Level 1 Certificate

Total Credit Hours Required for Degree: 60

• Third Semester Credits / Units: 6

• EMT and Firefighter preparation electives Credits / Units: 6

• Complete six credit hours from the following:

  • EMSP 1501 - Emergency Medical Technician  and EMSP 1160 - Clinical - EMT , or
  • Six credit hours of any FIRS or FIRT course not used in program
