DANC 1142 - Ballet II 1 Credits (3 hrs. lab.) Instruction and participation in ballet technique. This course is a continuation of DANC 1141 and provides additional instruction and practice in beginning ballet technique. Emphasis is upon placement, alignment, technique and terminology. Classical ballet barre, center work and floor combinations are utilized. (5003015226) Prerequisite: DANC 1141 or instructor approval. Course Outcomes 1 - Utilize proper body mechanics in beginning ballet technique.
2 - Exhibit knowledge of the basic history of ballet and beginning-level ballet terminology.
3 - Exhibit the ability to learn and perform basic beginning-level ballet sequences and combinations at the barre, in progression and center work.
