DHYG 1304 - Dental Radiology 3 Credits (2 hrs. lec., 3 hrs. lab.) Fundamentals of oral radiography, including techniques, interpretation, quality assurance, and ethics. Prerequisite: College Level Readiness in Reading AND Writing; Acceptance into the dental hygiene program; Corequisite: BIOL 2402 , DHYG 1201 , DHYG 1203 ,and DHYG 1431 Course Outcomes 1 - Explain the principles of radiation as it relates to physics, biology, hygiene, and safety.
2 - Produce and interpret diagnostically acceptable radiographs utilizing various radiographic techniques.
3 - Apply the principles of quality assurance in dental radiography.
4 - Describe the fundamental of oral radiographic techniques and interpretation.
