HART 1491 - Special Topics in Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration 4 Credits (2 hr. lec., 4 hrs. lab.) Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student. Course also provides a review for the state HVAC certification examination. Prerequisite: Instructor approval Course Outcomes 1 - Demonstrate preparedness for the departmental exam and state licensure exam. Topics to cover installation and service technology in air-conditioning, refrigeration, heat pumps, electric and gas heat, and air distribution in residential and commercial applications.
2 - Demonstrate basic math skills required in HVAC applications.
3 - Demonstrate computer skills in data collection, technical troubleshooting in HVAC from graphic illustrations.
