ITSC 1307 - UNIX Operating System I 3 Credits (2 hrs. lec., 3 hrs. lab.) Introduction to the UNIX operating system including multi-user concepts, terminal emulation, use of system editor, basic UNIX commands, and writing script files. Includes introductory system management concepts. Prerequisite: College Level Readiness in Reading AND Writing, ITSC 1301 or COSC 1301 or BCIS 1305 (for Business majors only) Course Outcomes 1 - Use basic UNIX commands.
2 - Apply terminal emulation.
3 - Use a system editor.
4 - Manage individual user accounts and files.
