OTHA 1301 - Introduction to Occupational Therapy 3 Credits (3 hrs. lec.) Introduction to the historical development and philosophy of the profession of occupational therapy. Emphasis on the roles and functions of the occupational therapy assistant in current health care environments including moral, legal, and ethical issues. Prerequisite: College Level Readiness in Reading AND Writing; Admission to the Occupational Therapy Assistant program Course Outcomes 1 - Define occupational therapy.
2 - Identify the education, roles, and functions of occupational therapy personnel.
3 - Define health care terminology.
4 - Identify health care settings.
