RNSG 2213 - Mental Health Nursing


2 Credits (2 hrs. lec.) Principles and concepts of mental health, psychopathology, and treatment modalities related to the nursing care of patients and their families. This course lends itself to a blocked approach. Prerequisite: None. Corequisite: RNSG 2162  
Course Outcomes
1 - Explain the roles of the professional nurse in caring for patients and families experiencing mental health problems.
2 - Use therapeutic communication.
3 - Utilizes critical thinking skills and a systematic problem-solving process for providing care to patients and families experiencing mental health problems.
