MATH 0232 - NCBO for Mathematics for Liberal Arts 2 Credits (2 hrs. lab.) MATH 0232 is a non-course based option covering objectives students will need to be successful in Mathematics for Liberal Arts, MATH 1332 . (3201045319) Prerequisite: MATH 0306 or Placement by testing for non-algebraic path. Corequisite: MATH 1332 Course Outcomes 1. Define, represent and perform operations on rational numbers including the correct implementation of rules of order or operation.
2. Perform operations using the Commutative, Associative, Distributive, and Identity Properties of Addition and Multiplication.
3. Solve problems that require rates, ratios, and percentages.
4. Simplify expressions using definitions and laws of integer exponents.
5. Solve linear equations and inequalities in one variable and compound inequalities in one variable.
6. Define the Cartesian Plane and plot points.
7. Find the slope and x- and y- intercepts and write the equation of a linear relation.
8. Evaluate radical and rational expressions.
9. Model, interpret, and justify mathematical ideas and concepts using graphical representations.
