DHYG 2363 - Clinical Dental Hygienist IV

3 Credits (18 hrs. ext.) A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional. A method of instruction providing detailed education, training and work-based experience and direct patient/client care in the dental hygiene clinic on the Kingwood College campus as well as external clinical sites. Specific detailed learning objectives are developed for each course by the faculty. On-site clinical instruction, supervision, evaluation and placement are the responsibility of the college faculty. Clinical experiences are unpaid learning experiences. Requires LSC liability insurance. Prerequisite: College Level Readiness in Reading AND Writing; DHYG 1211, DHYG 1235, DHYG 1239, DHYG 2231 and DHYG 2362. Corequisite: DHYG 2153 and DHYG 1215
