PSYC 2316 - Psychology of Personality Credit Hours: 3 Contact Hours - Lecture: 3 An examination of the major personality theories and ideas within the field of psychology. Includes, but not limited to, psychoanalytic, Neo-Freudian, humanistic and behavioral ideas and methods of personality measurement. CIP Code: (4201015725) Prerequisite: College Level Readiness in Reading AND Writing; PSYC 2301 Student Learning Outcomes 1 - Critically analyze the process of personality development.
2 - Identify and describe the historical and philosophical origins of each theory.
3 - Identify and describe each theoretical paradigm to include, but not limited to, psychodynamic, humanistic, behavioral, and cognitive theories.
4 - Describe the relationship between the major concepts in each theoretical paradigm.
5 - Describe and appraise their personality development through experimental exercises, group interaction, videos, lecture, and individual study.
