RELI 1311 - Old Testament Survey Credit Hours: 3 Contact Hours - Lecture: 3 This course presents the historical, cultural, and literary approaches to understanding the religious themes of the Hebrew Bible. This course is a non-funded course and may not transfer. Prerequisite: College Level Readiness in Reading AND Writing Student Learning Outcomes 1 - Summarize the history and culture of the Hebrew people and their relationship with the surrounding cultures.
2 - Discuss their concept of who God is, their relationship with God, and the mutual responsibility with the surrounding cultures.
3 - Distinguish among the general types of Hebrew writings: history (including the creation), the prophets, and the wisdom literature (including the poetry).
