RELI 1312 - New Testament Survey Credit Hours: 3 Contact Hours - Lecture: 3 This course presents the historical, cultural, and literary approaches to understanding the religious themes of the New Testament. This course is a non-funded course and may not transfer. Prerequisite: College Level Readiness in Reading AND Writing Student Learning Outcomes 1 - Compare and contrast the gospels through their organization, birth narratives, differing content, style, ending, and themes.
2 - Discuss the synoptic problem and the source theory.
3 - Outline the role of Paul in the development of the early church and its conflict with the Hellenistic culture.
4 - Characterize the Johannine writings including the gospel, epistles, and Revelation.
