EMSP 1338 - Introduction to Advanced Practice Credit Hours: 3 Contact Hours - Lecture: 3 Lab: 1 Fundamental elements associated with emergency medical services to include preparatory practices, pathophysiology, medication administration, and related topics. Prerequisite: EMSP 1160 and EMSP 1501 , or current EMT-B certification; ENGL 0304 or ESOL 0364 and ENGL 0306 or ESOL 0374 or ENGL 0302 Student Learning Outcomes 1 - Describe the roles and responsibilities of advanced EMS personnel within the EMS system.
2 - Apply concepts of pathophysiology and pharmacology to the assessment and management of emergency patients.
3 - Administer medications.
4 - Employ effective communication.
5 - Interpret medical/legal issues.
