AIRP 1451 - Instrument Ground School

A study of basic instrument radio and navigation fundamentals used in instrument flight. Topics include a description and practical use of navigation systems and instruments, charts used for instrument flight, and Federal Aviation Administration regulations.    
Prerequisite: AIRP 1315 , AIRP 1317 ; Private pilot certification is a pre-requisite to further flight instruction.
Student Learning Outcomes
1. Explain Federal Aviation Administration regulations for Instrument Flight. 2. Read and interpret instrument publications. 3. Describe the operation of navigation systems. 4. Describe the aircraft flight instruments operation. 5. Explain the air traffic control (ATC) procedures and flight physiology related to instrument flight. 6: Identify aeronautical knowledge areas required for the Federal Aviation Administration Instrument Practical Test. 7.Demonstrate proficiency in knowledge required by the Federal Aviation Administration for the Instrument Written Test.
